About

b. 1986, HK.

My love of marketing and design was found early on in a high school journalism room doing newspaper infographics. Once hooked, I went on to obtain my Bachelor’s in Advertising Design and cut my chops as an advertising agency art director in my early 20s. Combining my love of fine art and design, I moved to New York City and worked as a design studio office manager and arts organization graphic designer.

This work experience along with certificates in Arts Administration and in Digital Marketing / E-commerce led to positions at the Kimbell Art Museum, Capital One, the AT&T Performing Arts Center, HALL Group and the Dallas Symphony. I created cross-channel visual identities and branding and managed their implementation across multiple platforms from websites, email marketing and social media, to printed collateral, advertising campaigns and event graphics.

Through these positions and freelance clients, I have experience in a wide variety of fields including commercial and residential real estate, finance, hospitality, food and beverage, retail, fashion, visual arts, performing arts, philanthropy, education, healthcare and technology. In addition to the traditional responsibilities of these design roles, I have also embraced unique opportunities presented to me, such as international book production, hotel curatorial assistance, rights and reproduction licensing, photoshoot art direction, environmental graphics, wayfinding and signage logistics, event management, interior design and marketing management.

As my career has progressed, my most recent positions enabled me to transition into creative leadership. At the AT&T Performing Arts Center, I functioned as the Interim Creative Services Manager overseeing creative projects and budgets, supervising freelancers, training a junior graphic designer, managing vendors and maintaining the design file server.

At HALL Group, I led the graphic design functions within the Marketing Department, creating brand guidelines and design manuals for seven brands within the company and managing the deployment of visual assets across each line of business. I created and implemented an organizational structure for both internal file management and external asset sharing. Additionally, I worked with the VP of Marketing to hire and train a junior digital designer.

As the department head at the Dallas Symphony, I rebuilt the design department mid-COVID by hiring and on-boarding two full-time staff designers while managing two full-time freelance designers in a hybrid work environment. I implemented project management software, industry standard creative briefs and technological solutions to create a seamless, hybrid workflow. I led our team building and maintained staff morale at a challenging time for performing arts organizations.

Whether it be as a designer, marketing team member or creative manager, I have a passion for using branding and design to achieve marketing and business goals. And more importantly, reaching those goals while working collaboratively with a diverse team of smart, strategic and creative people.
